The Cure - Friday I'm In Love

I don't care if monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and wednesday too
Thursday i don't care about you
It's friday i'm in love
Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday wednesday break my heart
Thursday doesn't even start
It's friday i'm in love

Saturday wait
And sunday always comes too late
But friday never hesitate...

I don't care if monday's black
Tuesday wednesday heart attack
Thursday never looking back
It's friday i'm in love

Monday you can hold your head
Tuesday wednesday stay in bed
Or thursday watch the walls instead
It's friday i'm in love

Saturday wait
And sunday always comes too late
But friday never hesitate...

Dressed up to the eyes
It's a wonderful surprise
To see your shoes and your spirits rise
Throwing out your frown
And just smiling at the sound
And as sleek as a shriek
Spinning round and round
Always take a big bite
It's such a gorgeous sight
To see you eat in the middle of the night
You can never get enough
Enough of this stuff
It's friday
I'm in love

i'm listening more and more to older bands, especially the ones from the 80s. maybe i should have been born then , then i can enjoy the music for all i want. today's music is really mundane. okay only the chinese music industry is lame and boring. which is one of the reasons why i am anti-cheena.

but still, the music today was composed well, for profits and solely profits. long gone are the days where music was created because someone had an inspiration or a desire to express themselves. whereas back in the 80s, the songs were much more special. the lyrics came from the composers' heart and bands gave their soul in performing. this is even evident in the sales chart.

although some may argue that this era along with the advent of technology, no one needs to buy an album anymore. simply click a button or two and the songs will magically appear in your songs folder. but honestly, i don't think that any modern artist's work is being downloaded A HUNDRED MILLION TIMES.

which is why i'm very thankful and grateful towards my uncle. (yes he was the one who influenced me entirely haha)
he was the one who introduced me to the music of the past, taught me how to appreciate it. although our tastes are still a little different (he likes blues/hard rock), i can safely say that we're both fans of the oldies :)
