inside, i still am empty.
Disclaimer : Before I start blogging about the RGS forum, let me make this clear.
I DIDN'T GO TO RGS JUST TO LOOK AT GIRLS. YOU ALL MAKE ME SOUND LIKE I AM DESPERATE OR SOMETHING!
-----------------------
Raffles Girls School Forum 2. ( Alternate routes in education. )
Went to RGS with shawn, shan wei and andrew. I wasn't really familiar with the other 4 people from 4-3. Oh well.
Met at j8 around 5pm to take a taxi there. Taxi fare courtesy of mr heng. (:
But andrew and shan wei's taxi driver didn't know how to go RGS and in the end, drove them around Orchard. Haha, their bill cost like
$14.
Waited for the rest before heading in. At the gate, we were greeted by this group of guides who thought that we were there for their annual campfire. So when we told them we were there for the forum they were so embarrassed but ushered us in nonetheless. Then we met a teacher and he led us into the cyber learning center. And you know what? Their school has a
LIFT! Ahh, super jealous. Even though CHS had it before it was renovated, but their lift went all the way to the fourth floor. One higher than ours. xD
Went inside the CLC and upon reaching, it was really really awkward. 8 guys admist 100 other girls. And all of them academically much superior to ours. Gah, why did I even agree to go?
And they cheered when we went in so it felt super weird.
So after sitting down for about 10 minutes, the 3 speakers arrived and the forum started.
The guys were like
" EHHH WAIT A MINUTE. YOU MEAN ONLY CATHOLIC HIGH WAS INVITED? BUT MR HENG TOLD US OTHER SCHOOLS WOULD BE HERE! "Yeap, a classic case of jacked. No wonder he didn't want to come with us.
Sigh. Anyway, during the short 2 hours I realised that the students from RGS were really much more intellectual than us. The way they articulated and the poise in which they delivered their questions were all so baffling. ( to us anyway. )
Naturally being their guests, it was imperative that we asked a few questions too during the Q&A or it would seem that we went there to stone.
But the questions were more like bombardments to the speakers as two guys from 4-3 kept saying they felt that the IP programme was not justified and so on. Hello, if it was not justified, would the government even implement it in the first? Like duh.
And now, CHS's reputation is now in shambles because of just the
TWO of them.
To top it off, when I went up to collect the token of appreciation, the back of my shirt was untucked. Then the crowd went " OOOOOOO". Ahhh. It was such a screw up.
Oh my god. Even though someone said that at least I didn't make CHS students seem like toots but the damage has already been done. Oh no.
At the end of the forum, we had a little bit of refreshments and the girls came up to talk to us. They were quite sociable. Initially thought that they will be more reserved but on the contary, they just kept chatting and chatting.
Uhh, forgot their names already. But it was a good experience talking with them.
Nonetheless, I still may get to see them in May because of the student leader investiture! Hahaha. One was a prefect and another was a congress member. (sort of a class monitress)
Yup, sadly they had to go and clear up the mess. And we weren't allowed to help.
So we parted from there on.
Took a bus to far east plaza and took 54 back home with andrew, shan wei and shawn.
And tadaaa, reached home at about 9.30pm.
My my, that was a wordy post.
Haha, enough of blogging already.
Goodbye my faithful readers!
:)
