Batam OCIP aftermath.

Its been eons once again since I last visited this dingy old thing. (I reserve the right to call it dingy since its been here for the past 2 years.)

So I came back none worse for the wear from my ocip trip. It was pretty eventful and an eye opening experience, from the ginormous potholes on the roads to the muddy slopes at the orphanage. Honestly, when I first reached there, I was overwhelmed by the well, bad conditions there. But hey, I figured that since we all volunteered to help out, might as well get down and dirty while you're at it, right?? Thats what we did.

Or at least, thats what I did. Wait, that didn't come out right.
Heshuang happened to me. Ah yes thats the sentence. You see, for the few days that I was there, I was covered in paint and cement literally. There was a point when I saw green paint still dripping from hair back in the hotel toilet. (That would be after we have finished our work) Imagine the nicest little shock I had when I saw green highlights on my leghair. Thats because yours truly was given an extreme makeover by the person mentioned above to look a little more like the Hulk. And to this day, the remnants of the green paint still remain on my shirts.
So here's a big thanks to you my friend! (who is currently in China now)

What my class did was pretty impressive within the 3 days I must say. We accomplished many things!

Painted the walls of the mosque
Cemented part of the wall
Re-painted the walls because the kids went to spoil them
Piss off another class.
Played sepak takraw with the kids
Pranked called each other in the hotel

The prank callings were works of a pure genius I swear. (of course, I came up with them)
Ha ha ha, okay so the rest of the guys helped out too. Although I'm sorry towards Jassmen because he's constantly being laughed at by my class. (okay I'm not so sorry actually) Better luck "catching your refrigerator" next time!

We played indian poker + truth or dare combined in the hotel rooms!
It was really hilarious to say the least and somewhat frustrating. Hilarious because of all the answers from the truths. I guess it wouldn't hurt to spill the beans here...

The past week has been hectic to say the least. Well, at least for me anyway. I have been sleeping an average of 4.5 hours for 7 days which is ironically, lesser than during the actual school days! Basically, I had dance practice 8 hours a day for the auditions held 3 days ago. Trust me when I say, PLEASE DO STRETCH AND WARM UP BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE. Being the foolish bunch of us, we proceeded straight to dance prior to any warm ups whatsoever. Guess what? The following day, every single one of us had cramps/aches/strains in almost every part of our body and I reckon we could have been the proud advertisers of salonpas! Jokes aside, our aches, well... ACHED.

Nonetheless, dancing was an enjoyable and convivial experience. It was a welcome change for the previously stressful and agonising countdown to release of promotional results.
And while I am on the subject of dance, Jayne is a kickass dancer! You'll probably go wtfhaxbbq if you see any of her solos and choreography. Ha ha ha, and it was pretty much thanks to her we even got an item to present at the auditions. Speaking of which, the auditions didn't feel like one. In fact, it was probably just a teaser/sneakpeek of what we were going to do on OPENHOUSE which is tentatively on the 12th of Jan! (Btw, this is an obvious hint for all those reading this post now to come down and support us :D)

Its almost 23rd November which means OCIP trip beckons! I'm actually leaving in probably 20 hours time and will be back on the 26th. Please try not to miss me too much as I will be back pretty soon! (Not very soon actually) Pardon me for my "thickskin-ness" if that's actually a real word hah. :P
I am looking forward to this trip because it presents a great chance for T6 to bond once more! We have not gotten too many chances like this so lets make the most out of it people :D
Eagerly anticipating the banter, jokes, games (*coughs* monopoly *coughs) and the sense of achievement after we have made other people's lives better! (crosses fingers for no screwing up)

Today was a day of mixed emotions. On one hand, results were good and all but not so good for others. Sigh, this is an unfair world.

My results got moderated like mad which is cool and all but compared to others, it really sucks balls.

Dance was especially tiring today.

Well anyway, this week has been fun because I managed to spend time with the people that are really precious to me!
Headed back to Catholic High for homecoming with Avril, Grace, Law. We met Sabrina there too which is such a coincidence.
After a short rendezvous with everyone that I sorely missed, we went to J8 to have swensens! Note to self, never eat baked rice from there!
Pizzahut's is so much better. We split up from there and I slept over at Law's house again (Seriously, your house rocks hahahha.)

Today we got lambasted by our geography teacher.

Today marked the beginning of mass pe! Hooray!
Oh how we missed those times when we were nearly dying from merely lying on the floor after the excessive PT (physical torture). Not fun at all, I must admit.

We were also being secretly used as sponges to clean the dirty area outside the PAC during PE. Let me break it down for you:

Firstly, they had us run 2 rounds around the college.
We obviously perspire quite a bit when running, especially under the sun. So... that would make our shirts wet with sweat.

They (the PE teachers) then made us lie on the floor on both our fronts and backs and when we stood up, woohla, instant cleaning! Okay so sweat isn't exactly the best alternative for water but I swear the place was so dirty that even dirty fish tank water could be used to clean it!
And yea, my shirt which was blue, had many black outlines that faintly resembled my body shape... Hmmm.

Anway, I slacked a little in the canteen with the class before zipping off for guitar.
Guitar is seriously such a chore, especially when there are 3 bungs look-alikes from NYGS in the class. One of them looks like the younger version of my econs teacher, Miss MHL. She's probably in her 80's and she's smoking hot. Another of the ~~girls~~ butches look like a genetically modified offspring of a pig and a human.

Sigh life sucks.
Oh well, at least I have someone to cheer me up (:

Countdown to promos: 50 days

Barely 2 weeks after I binded my previous geog notes, I get a new set of them! Mind you, the previous geog notes were at least 50 pages. This just illustrates my point that JC is indeed C-R-A-Z-Y with a capital C!
Okay fine, the entire word was in caps but heck. Anyway, you might be wondering whats with all the sudden angst towards the education system. To be honest, I don't really know either! Perhaps the impending exams attributed to this, or it could also be that fact that I am going to badly fail my recent math CA. Either ways, it ain't cool.
But of course I am teh awesomez shitz so I shall play it cool for the time being ;)

Dance has been super fun nowadays thanks to the lepak gang hahaha.
Thrash talking in the canteen is fun! We should do it more often so we can bond yo.
Its getting a little stressful though, knowing that we only have like, 4 practices left before we perform. But I believe that we'll all make it, just like what we did for SYF presents!

Project Work
My pw group went to Mr Kunalan's house for a interview today.
His house is SUPER nice. It has like a huge pond and a garden! We got ourselves stuffed silly while we were there with nasi lemak, lontong and ice cream! Hehehehe, quite a good deal eh! He is a really nice and easy person to talk to and we even took pictures with him. Too bad I'm not photogenic or I might have taken more with him. Not everyday you get to take photos with a national sporting legend!
Btw, personally, he gave me an inspiration: To live in a nice big house like his. So work hard Jonathan, you have a long way to go! Now thats just another ambition added to your currently ongoing list of about a few thousand? Ah, I'm blabbering nonsense.

My team is averaging like 4+ goals scored per match! I thrashed Lyon 5-0 in the European Super Cup and most recently, Aston Villa 8-1 in the premier league.
7 matches into the season and 30 goals scored :D

Missing dance does not help at all either but thats okay! Because wednesday is coming soon.

So here I am, typing away after a rather eventful week.
Firstly, I am quite happy to say that I got into the dance exco as secretary :D
Its no president or what but I can't complain since I actually asked for that position. Yes, you might be feeling perplexed now as to why I had to ask for secretary instead of higher positions but that did not occur to me when I was being interviewed. Ahhhh, I'm so stupid! But at least both president and vice president are capable candidates and a boy is in the exco of a cca dominated by girls.
Speaking of the interview, I actually got caught by the dean (TJS) for long hair while waiting outside. Grahhh, it was so unfortunate but not that I really care or anything.

Today was PTM and unbelieveably, I didn't get much of a scolding! W to the h to the o o o pie! But my mum was being a dick (oh the irony) and took me aside to lecture me on little issues which quite frankly pissed me off to the extent that I contemplated taking the knife and ...
But on a whole, its been a roller coaster ride of a week that threatened to derail itself so badly so I should be grateful.

Guitar is sooooo boring without Jackston! Not only do I have no one to talk to during class, I have to see my teacher's atrocious armpit hair which always sticks out and captures my attention. Eating 2 dinners in the span of an hour is no joke by the way. It still doesn't feel like school has just reopened. In fact, my body clock is still used to waking up at 11a.m. Which of course totally wrecks the way I function, especially when I'm getting myself out of bed.

Nooooooooooo, I want my holidays back.
Anyway, Sentosa was fun to say the least although I did get a LITTLE tanner. Jackston, Shan Jin and me went to book a spot for us at the beach early at like 10 in the morning when they only arrived at 12 plus! Aren't we just the best? :D

Played soccer with a volleyball while Christopher nearly got me killed with his racist remarks!
Shan Jin kicked my toe until the toe nail cracked in half and its &$@&!^%* painful ):
So now I resort to putting a huge bandage around my big toe and I can't fit into my socks now because its too fat.
We played captain's ball afterwards which is kind of dumb if you were watching because its basically 11 crazy dicks shouting for the ball everytime its passed around!
Oh and I got thrown into the sea by my classmates which absolutely sucked! Firstly, all the ang moh tourists were just staring at me while I plummetted into the water. Secondly, my new shirt got stains all over and I can't remove them from my shirt. Thirdly, I drank few mouthfuls of dirty sea water.
Sigh.

Headed to pastamania for dinner before all of us trained home :D
Then went over to Law's house for stayover. His family is damn freaking hilarious, from Edison all the way down to Larry. Hahaha, I wished I had a cool family like his but when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! (quoted from my secondary 4 classmate although its meant to be a joke hah)

I'm going to flunk my GP and physics. There's no doubts about it anymore hahaha.
The only regret is that I should have studied more for physics since everything was almost a repeat from tutorials and revision questions ):

Friday was fun. After exams, half of the class went to Far East to eat at Mogu Mogu. We strongly advise all those that wish to diet to dine there because their servings are so damn small! We laughed especially alot at the expense of Jessica and Heshuang HAHA. And the guys were all busy engrossed with watching Melvin play City Blocks on Jackston's handphone while the girls openly bitched about us! The only mini second when all the guys looked up was when we heard "porn magazine".

Jessica also burst out laughing when she managed to find the word that eluded everyone's tongue. But it was the sort of laughter that you would associate with a lunatic...
Then there were 4 guys and we suddenly looked up and stared at her in astonishment. And our faces spelt "W-T-F-?" LOL.

Headed to Toys R' Us to have fun with the toys. We wielded axes that would make noises when you hacked someone, smashed each others heads with styrofoam hammers and practiced fencing with toy swords! The girls then took photos wearing the transformers masks. Lastly, Jackston and Melvin acted gay with the pink shades and frolicking with small pink umbrellas. Oh mai gawd, and all these were done in CJC uniform! HAHAHA. Yes I believe we destroyed what little of the school's reputation it previously had (:

Went to Starbucks @ Heeren to slack and rest our legs before heading off to Cineleisure again. Oh and we met up with Leon too! Fantastic ally to be with when you're shooting Heshuang :DD
Anyway, at Cineleisure, Heshuang saw many of her ex-schoolmates and like screeched at 1986538908754312 decibels. Oh and I finally saw how Mag looks like in real life! Heh.

Trained home at around 9 plus.

Pardon me for not blogging on a regular basis. I've been an extremely busy person procrastinating my long over due homework, revision and what not. Exams are just around the corner (in fact, next thursday to be exact) and here I am, listening to K-pop songs and trying to decipher their indiscriminately confusing dance steps.

In the above paragraph, I have displayed 2 possibly fatal behavioural traits that could end my JC life.

I cannot be bothered with my academic studies whatsoever. Not that I've any competency in it to start with but yea.
I'm turning gay. (Yes folks, contrary to the belief that listening to K-pop songs are cool, they are quite instrumental in turning innocent little boys and infusing them with estrogens.

Speaking of calls, I realised little sisters talk absolutely bullcrap while hogging the phone. I can't really be bothered with listing the exact details but they go along the line of: "omg and like my senior is so ********." Okay, maybe its just MY little sister. Seriously, its been 2 hours and 20 minutes since she first picked up the phone. At this rate, I will honestly consider sueing my sister for severe noise pollution on the basis of disturbing me whilst I'm listening to my K-pop tunes! I'm experiencing a myriad of feelings. Perhaps I'm the devil afterall. And they often say if looks could kill. Well, if words could kill then I shudder to think what would have happen. Sometimes I feel like I'm such an insignificant being in other people's lives. Which then leads me to think, would it have been better if I have never appeared in their midsts?

But that will just bring me down to a certain someone's level. A certain someone that almost infuriated me as much as myself yesterday. Honestly, how could anyone think that I could ever be someone who would make a decent friend? I would like to know the answer to that enigmatical question myself. Like what I've always said, no matter what you'll need your best friends to tide over the hard times and I guess this was very much evident yesterday.

The routines of waking up at 6 to shower and heading to school is getting terribly mundane. I dread having to pull myself from the comforts of my cozy bed just to forcibly stand under the cold showers and have the frigid droplets hit my body.

Then again, that's the way life is, isn't it?

You are always forced to do something that you dislike.
In my case, it would be taking academic tests, two of the most recent ones which I have a 99.5378916374% chance of failing. Haha yes, its THAT bad.

Sometimes, the only solace I can seek would come from an unlikely source: sombre songs - or as the majority of the world knows it as; "emo songs"
Their deft usage of lyrics can sometimes be the most picturesque words ever pieced together and yet sound so harmoniously right when accompanied by the various instruments. In this sense, I would disagree that a picture paints a thousand words. Rather, it should be the reverse. Yes, that is the enchanting power of lyrics, so much so that it is able to transcend clarivoyance.

Anyway, we had a mini class outing yesterday at Orchard. Only 11 people made it but hey, at least that's more than half the class! Oh, make that 10 since Rachel isn't considered our classmate anymore haha. Went to Heeren's Fish N Co's for dinner (or for most of the people there, a very much delayed lunch).

Heshuang was late as usual. The class already knew she would be late and hence, told her the meeting time was at 6 when the actual meeting time was 6.30. That queen bimbo actually smsed me saying that she WAS ON THE WAY HOME to change at 5:45! Tsk tsk tsk, its not cool to be fashionably late you know hahaha.

We took a few photos before heading to Lido to watch X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Its a decent movie I guess but I cringed when they tried to put adamantium into his body. They had to literally screw the adamantium into his bones and I found that scene to be quite grotesque. Although they only showed the x-ray of the process, being the imaginative me, I went to visualize it which is NOT SMART. Oh well, but at least now I know how one of Marvel's favourite hero came about. Bussed home together with Rachel and reached home nearly at 1 a.m.

One of my classmate's dad recently passed away in a car accident.
It sort of reminded me how fragile life is. To think that in a moment, your loved ones can just disappear from the face of this earth. Scary thought eh? I was initially shell-shocked by the news. To be honest, I don't know what I'll do if that were to happen to me. I'll probably cry my heart out and drop out of school. I'll live my entire life in regret because there hasn't been a single thing that I did that could make him proud. I guess these are the emotions that my classmate is experiencing now.

So it has lead me to think, is God really playing a game of russian roulette with us, silently and slowly picking us off one at a time?

2 weeks have elasped since the re-start of the academic term.
I guess I haven't been blogging properly because so many things happened to me in such a short span of time. What is a person to do when he's in a state of disconcertion? Maybe other people knew how to deal with precariously sensitive issues but not me. Nuh uh, I had absolutely no clue. Like the chinese idiom, both sides were akin to the top and bottom of my palm. Hurting either would be painful to me and it did hurt me, in many ways that are inconvenient to say it out here.

Heshuang was telling me that my old archives were fun to read. I was initially equivocal about her comments but then I went to see it for myself. And I realised it was true! Not trying to advertise and say that my life was interesting but it still manages to make me grin / cringe with delight / disgust whenever I read certain posts. Alright, self control jonathan. I'm literally drowning in a pool of homework.

On a bright note, I finally managed to have 10 hours of sleep yesterday! Ever since I entered JC, I think I average 6 hours of sleep everyday which is something I'm NOT USED TO AT ALL.
Jonathan, you need to be more efficient so that you won't fall below the ppc curve... Oh dear, the homework is seriously driving me nuts hahahha.

reunion dinner was a total flop.

THIS BLOG NEEDS A RE-VAMP.

Went to rivervale primary for some cip thing with avril and yilin.
haha, it was a nice experience (mostly) i guess.
the primary 1 kids were quite adorable and so innocent! and no i'm not a pedophile like avril :)

we were supposed to be reading stories to them but our class refused. in the end we started playing cute games like musical chairs hah. my favourite was this boy called yew hwee! andrew and dave were pretty cute adorable too hahaha. its such a pity they didn't take photos of the kids though.

there was also this kid called basil. (what a coincidence he shares the same name as my neighbour -_-) i think he's experiencing puberty early cause he kept molesting me. acts of molest included squeezing my butt twice amongst others. omg, i feel violated.
fortunately none of the girls had to take him but why me!? oh and there were 2 other girls called eileen and huiling i think.

went to compass for lunch before yilin went to avril's house to nap and i walked & bussed home (:

this was entirely ripped from yilin's blog cause i was lazy to blog about 8th Jan :p

today was super fun ! Jon and i nearly travelled the whole of Singapore , meeting many people also !

first up , headed all the way to Bukit Timah to Ngee Ann poly and met up with jason to see their mass comm . man , poly sounds so enticing . Then met up with JinHe for lunch before heading off to temasek poly which was all the way at Tampinese[not sure about the spelling] :\
Only Jon and me haha .

Along the way saw Deanna , Yanping and Berlinda ! together , we headed to the poly . Then met up with Daryl . Saw the applied science there and was offered red bull . Deanna got a little high after that xD then Yanping and Berlinda left . Deanna , Daryl , Yilin and me then together head to TM for dinner at pizza hut . [the fun started] Deanna and Jon like click damn well man hahaha . Everybody , including Yanping , agrees ! Even Daryl said that he never see jon talk so much before xD They first time met but seemed to talk about everything under the sun haha ! From family to money to etc !

Then Daryl and I were busy disturbing them . Even when we break their conversation , 2-3 secs later , they were like back on track talking away already hahaha xD And daryl keeps mocking me for being blur , looking blur . [im not !!!!!]

Took the bus to YCK . interchange to interchange . haha but the bus ride didn't seem long though :\ Oh . Daryl's father seems so hip haha . Razor mouse to play CnC ! Then after slacking about the hub , we headed home .

before i start, happy new year everyone! haha i know i'm late but better late than never right :p

work on friday was great even though i was the only one from the chs gang there. we talked loads of bullcrap so i guess it helped me to bond with them. we especially aimed at jason and meiyun hahaha. super funny la, the way we "gossiped" about them. well, gossip isn't the proper term since we did it right in their face :S

anyway, it was hilarious especially when we aimed at jason and "________" =X

i then went around orchard buying new clothes for the new year. oh and fyi, DO NOT get yourself in the way of women and "70% sales". i swore i almost lost both of my arms literally. they were like pushing and shoving around as if they were fighting for water in the middle of the desert -.-

i also realised shopping isn't for me hahaha.
so if you are thinking of dragging me out to shop next time, DON'T.
i think its easier to run 2.4km than to shop honestly omg!

his house is noisy the whole time because of the 5 brothers and cousins ahhaha.
but not in a bad way of course, its livelier this way.

played guitar hero most of the time and i played drums and vocalist parts :S
i think i sucked at the singing especially haha but what the heck.

oh oh, we also went karting together with his family. its SUPER expensive lor, $40 for just 10 minutes! i felt bad about it especially since i played like 2 rounds -.-
1st run was quite good for a newb like me i suppose but the 2nd run totally sucked HAHA.

it was pretty embarrassing when everyone drives past you with that puzzled look ahaha.

gasp, its almost january!
you know, this entire year passed by so darn fast and i'm not just talking about O' levels and what not.

but its just... i don't know, kinda flew past? haha flew past is such an awkward expression but yes.

thinking back to the first day of sec 4 where the teachers introduced themselves to us to hanging out with my 3-3 '07 clique to bonding with 4-1 and preparing ourselves for prelim 1. that was about it for term 1.

term 2 came knocking on the door pretty soon after, conflicts occurred along with confused emotions hahaha. then the class was really split into different bands for the classes and i guess it was at that point of time where it got really really hard for me since i slacked too much in term 1.

term 3 started after prelims 2 which i absolutely sucked at. honestly if i didn't need to hand the result slip back i would have put it in the shredder.
but it was also during this term that the constant remedials began to take its toll on us.

term 4 was indeed the final push where all the teachers really pushed us to the max before leading us into the hall for our o level papers.

and here i am, waiting to take back my results in what, 3 - 4 weeks time?

2008 hasn't really been a bad year for me but... i guess i grew indifferent to everything around me. indifferent to friends, emotions and everything.
it really made me feel detached from everything, like i had no more place in this stupid world. it also made me realise what a big hypocrite i truely am.

i always tell others to relax and not to think too much about things. but in reality i probably do the same, or even to a greater extent. ahahaha, that's pretty pathetic if i may say so myself. i ask people to tell me about their problems but i keep mine bottled up. i act childish in order to disguise myself as some ignorant, "happy go lucky" kid. in the end, the only person that i'm lying to is myself.

SO HAVING SAID THAT, i think i have a pretty good idea of what my new year's resolution is :)
